Article Abstract:
A study revealed that academic medical centers are not performing well in addressing risk factors such as hyperglycemia, hypertension, and dyslipidemia in patients despite knowing that preventing heart disease, stroke, and other complications of diabetes require aggressive management. However, the necessity for aggressive management is expected to grow, as diabetes prevalence would increase.
