Diet during pregnancy in a population of pregnant women in South West England
Article Abstract:
The diets of a population of pregnant women in southwestern England are studied. Results are then compared to the recommendations of the Reference Nutrient Intakes (RNI) and Dietary and Nutritional Survey of British Adults (DNSBA). It is shown that the mean daily intakes of folate, vitamin C, thiamine and riboflavin are higher than DSNBA values while daily intakes of energy, iron, magnesium and potassium are less than RNIs.

Multivariate analysis of diet among three-year-old children and associations with socio-demographic characteristics
Article Abstract:
A new study seeks to identify the types of diet being eaten by preschool children in southwest England and to discover whether social and demographic lifestyle factors and characteristics of the main carers influence the eating patterns of children. It is shown that social, demographic and lifestyle factors of mothers influence the early eating patterns of their offspring.

Association between composition of the diet and haemoglobin and ferritin levels in 18-month-old children
Article Abstract:
Dietary research of 18-month-old children shows that fruit and vegetables and some meat and fish are required to increase the levels of ferritin and haemoglobin in the body. Milk and dairy products have a negative effect on ferritin levels.
