Dirithromycin
Article Abstract:
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recently approved the new macrolide antibiotic dirithromycin (Dynabac) for treating various types of pneumonia and streptococcal pharyngitis. The new drug is not licensed for the treatment of Haemophilus influenzae, a bronchitis bacteria. A dose of 500 milligrams (mg) of dirithromycin taken once a day appears to be as effective as 250 mg of erythromycin taken four times a day. Similar to erythromycin, dirithromycin may cause a few side effects, such as nausea and stomach pain, in some patients. Although dirithromycin is taken once a day only, it costs much more than erythromycin preparations. Therefore, established antibiotics may be preferable until further evidence of the drug effectiveness of dirithromycin emerges.

Bolivia teeters under populism
Article Abstract:

The state's policy towards cocaine production, increasing crime rates, policy regarding hydrocarbon manifestations and regional relations are some of the potential sources of conflict as Bolivia navigates a phase of populist administration.
