Article Abstract:
Misconceptions about heart attacks, stroke and high blood pressure stem from factual observation during the global epidemic and are deep-rooted. They have existed so long that they have become myths. These myths influence the allocation and resources and affect cardiovascular disease prevention and control measures. One of the myths listed, which should be dispelled, is that heart disease is a problem of developed countries. The truth is that two-thirds of the deaths from cardiovascular disease occur in developing countries.
