Disruption of C/EBP alpha function in acute myeloid leukemia
Article Abstract:
The most common type of acute leukemia in adults, acute myeloid leukemia (AML), consist a clonal expansion and asserted maturation of myeloid precursor cells in the bone marrow, resulting in granulocytopenia and amenia. Studies of C/EBP alpha and other transcription factors that regulate hematopoiesis has led to a greater understanding of myeloid leukemogenesis and to the development of a molecularly based classification.

Genomic aberrations and survival in chronic lymphocytic leukemia
Article Abstract:
Researchers used fluorescence in situ hybridization to detect chromosomal abnormalities in 325 patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Eighty-two percent had a chromosomal abnormality. Patients with a deletion in chromosome 17p or 11q had the worst prognosis.

Use of Gene-expression profiling to identify prognostic subclasses in adult acute myeloid leukemia
Article Abstract:
The study was conducted to reflect the molecular heterogeneity of acute myeloid leukemia (AML), and treatment stratification is difficult. As a result the use of gene-expression profiling improves the molecular classification of adult AML.
