Dissociation of immunologic and virologic responses to highly active antiretroviral therapy
Article Abstract:
In HIV patients who take AIDS drugs, the immune system may partly recover even though they have relatively high blood levels of the virus. A study of 24 HIV patients found that this may occur because they have fewer blood cells infected with virus.

Greater diversity of HIV-1 quasispecies in HIV-infected individuals with active tuberculosis
Article Abstract:
HIV patients who also have tuberculosis may be infected with several different strains of HIV. The reasons for this are unknown, but may reflect some interaction between HIV and the bacterium that causes tuberculosis.

Oxidative stress in HIV-1-infected injection drug users
Article Abstract:
Some HIV-infected drug users may benefit from supplemental anti-oxidants. HIV infection may cause increased oxidation in the body, which could have adverse health consequences.
