Diurnal rhythms of labor and delivery in women: modulation by parity and seasons
Article Abstract:
Labor and delivery in women appears to be affected by daily and seasonal rhythms. A study of 15,910 deliveries in Italy revealed that labor occurred most often at 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. However, this diurnal rhythm was seen only in women in their first pregnancy. Deliveries also peaked at 2 p.m. and this rhythm was also seen only in those in their first pregnancy. Seasonal variations in labor and delivery were also seen.

Rhythmic variation in the rate of ectopic pregnancy throughout the year
Article Abstract:
The rate of ectopic pregnancy appears to peak in June and December. An ectopic pregnancy occurs when a fertilized egg implants in the Fallopian tubes rather than in the uterus as it is supposed to do. Researchers analyzed 15,639 pregnancies between 1992 and 1997 and found that the rate of all pregnancies peaked in March and the rate of ectopic pregnancies peaked in June and December.
