The advertising for Phos Fuel claims that the product blocks the buildup of lactic acid in the muscles to delay the onset of muscle fatigue. Tests at the Laboratory of Human Physiology at the University of California at Los Angeles showed that the product does not increase performance or change the 'lactate threshold.'
