Early detection: the next steps
Article Abstract:
The early detection of HIV has been enhanced by tests that can produce results in minutes and the development of drugs that can suppress viral reproduction and prolong the lives of HIV patients. Further goals in the fight against AIDS are discussed.

HIV testing from a community perspective

New HIV diagnostic tests and effective treatments make HIV screening an important part of the epidemic. But there are still many divergent opinions about HIV screening and it seems clear that screening programs must be linked to treatment programs.

The user acceptability and feasibility of self-testing with HIV rapid tests is studied. The results indicate that self-testing has some limitations.
