Eat your greens: the Scottish consumer's perspective on fruit and vegetables
Article Abstract:
A survey has been carried out in Scotland on consumers' attitudes to health advice on consumption of fruit and vegetables. Shopping patterns, income levels and preferences of family members affect what fruit and vegetables are purchased and the quantities bought. Attitudes as to what comprises a proper meal are important and some people argue that two vegetables do not fit onto a plate. New information on diet often confuses people and existing eating habits give a feeling of security.

Postgraduate training in health education/promotion: the demand from potential students for distance learning
Article Abstract:
A study carried out in Scotland on demand for distance learning for health profession qualifications has found that potential demand is high. Most health professionals without postgraduate qualifications would prefer a distance learning course. Managers also favor such an approach. Distance learning involves problems of isolation, motivation and discipline. These drawbacks need to be borne in mind when distance learning courses are set up.
