Effectiveness of cloxacillin with and without gentamicin in short-term therapy for right-sided Staphylococcus aureus endocarditis: a randomized, controlled trial
Article Abstract:
Short-term cloxacillin treatment alone appears to be equally effective as cloxacillin plus gentamicin in patients with Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) infections in the lining of the right side of the heart. Ninety patients with S. aureus infections were treated for two weeks with either cloxacillin alone or cloxacillin plus gentamicin. Ninety-two percent of the group completing treatment with cloxacillin alone and 94% of the group completing treatment with combination therapy had no more evidence of infection. Two patients receiving combination therapy and one patient receiving only cloxacillin died.

Pharmacokinetic interaction between nevirapine and rifampicin in HIV-infected patients with tuberculosis
Article Abstract:
Study has shown that rifampicin reduces serum exposure to nevirapine, but clinical implications are yet to be established. Pharmacokinetic interaction between nevirapine and rifampicin has been studied in HIV-infected patients with tuberculosis. The steady-state serum pharmacokinetics (PKs) of nevirapine before and during treatment with rifampicin and the steady-state serum PKs of rifampicin in patients receiving rifampicin alone or in combination with nevirapine are reported.

Failure of cetirizine to prevent nevirapine-associated rash: a double-blind placebo-controlled trial for the GESIDA 26/01 study
Article Abstract:
An attempt was made to evaluate the efficacy of cetirizine in the prevention of nevirapine rash using a double-blind placebo-controlled study. By performing this study, it was concluded that cetirizine does not prevent the incidence or affect the severity of neviropine-associated rash.
