Article Abstract:
An FDS Advisory Committee has recommended (OTC) marketing of Plan B (Barr), an emergency contraceptive "pill pack". Their effectiveness, adverse effects, dosage and cost are explained with figures, whereas the mechanism by which high doses of oral contraceptives taken soon after coitus prevent pregnancy, is still unknown.

Bortezomib (Velcade) for multiple myeloma
Article Abstract:
Clinical testing points out that bortezomib (Velcade) produces a prolonged response in treatment-refractory multiple myeloma. it is a proteasome inhibitor and is FDA approved. However, its effect, either alone or in combination, on early myeloma is unknown.

Oxybutynin transdermal (oxytrol) for overactive bladder
Article Abstract:
Oxybutynin is a patch formulation for the transdermal treatment of overactive bladder, which is as aeefective as the orally administered drug. Results indicate that it less effective for incontinence, causes itching, and results in less dry mouth.
