Emergency contraception given via a patient group direction
Article Abstract:
A study of the effectiveness of laws in the United Kingdom that allow nurses to prescribe emergency contraception to patients in certain specially defined groups is presented. The study showed that more women were able to get levonogestrel in time to prevent pregnancy and that trained nurses were also available to talk to them about sexual health and other birth control methods.

Nurses urge NHS staff to tackle violence
Article Abstract:
According to nurses, the NHS chief executive should tackle issues related to violence and workload. Survey shows that 15 percent of the respondents had experienced physical violence at work and 37 percent were harrassed, bullied or abused. The survey highlighted the need for implementing local anti-bullying ombudsmen.
