Estimating prevalence of type 1 and type 2 diabetes in a population of African-Americans with diabetes mellitus
Article Abstract:
The pathogenesis, treatment, and outcomes of type 1 and type 2 diabetes differ across racial/ethnic groups. Researchers in this study collected data on a group of African-Americans with diabetes. Their data were used to map out some classification rules based on classification tree and a logistic regression model. They concluded that simple rules can be used and optimal rule differs from the current rules.
