Evaluation study of congestive heart failure and pulmonary artery catheterization effectiveness: The ESCAPE trial
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to determine the safety of pulmonary artery catheter (PAC) use and its improvement in clinical outcomes of patients hospitalized with severe symptomatic and recurrent heart failure. Findings revealed that therapy to reduce volume overload during hospitalization for heart failure led to marked improvement in signs and symptoms of elevated filling pressures with or without the PAC.

Researchers explore obesity-cancer link
Article Abstract:
Researchers have discovered that obesity may cause 14% of all cancer deaths in men and 20% of all cancer deaths in women. It isn't clear exactly how obesity may increase the risk of cancer, but insulin-like growth factor 1 and IGF-1 binding protein 3 may be involved. Specific genes may increase the risk of both conditions.
