Examining the prevalence and characteristics of abfractionlike cervical lesions in a population of U.S. veterans
Article Abstract:
Excessive tooth brushing can cause the gums to recede and erosion of teeth at the gum line, according to a study of 32 people with tooth erosion at the gum line that was not caused by cavities. Seventy-five percent said they used a firm or hard toothbrush and 78% used a back-and-forth brushing technique. However, there may be other causes of this type of tooth erosion.
