Article Abstract:
The three facets of sexual differentiation are the production of egg and sperm cells, the development of genitals to carry those cells to the place where fertilization takes place, and sexual behavior. Genes determine the development of egg and sperm cells, but genital development and sexual behavior are primarily hormonal.

The study report suggest that p53-dependent factors such as pro-opiomelanocortin cortin gene (POMC) derivatives or other proinflammatory cytokines are required for tanning response, characterized by increased production of transfer of pigment-containing organelles (melanosomes) from melanocytes to keratinocytes.
