Exploring our role as health care providers - the oral-medical connection
Article Abstract:
The effect of oral health on the patient's over all health is discussed. Some of the neurological and chronic ailments are now recognized to have a link with oral health. Consequent importance of dentists in the health care segment is highlighted.

The results of the survey carried out between the years 1988 to 1994, and 1999 through 2002, identifying the trends and current states of dental caries, dental sealants, tooth retention, and tooth loss among Americans, are examined.
