Expression of estrogen receptor isoforms alpha and beta messenger RNA in vaginal tissue of premenopausal and postmenopausal women
Article Abstract:
The vagina contains both the alpha and beta forms of the estrogen receptor, but the amount of the beta receptor in the vagina decreases with age. This was the conclusion of researchers who measured the amount of both receptors in vaginal tissue samples taken from 75 premenopausal and postmenopausal women.
