Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, in Boston, MA, uses two-way videoconferencing to keep parents in touch with their ill or premature infants. Parents can interact with the babies, and this may improve the clinical outcomes, according to the teaching and research officials connected to the hospital. The videoconferencing service also serves as a marketing tool for the facility.

Article Abstract:
Healthcare organizations in Denver, Colorado have undergone several changes during the 1990s. Columbia/HCA entered the market in 1995 and formed a partnership with Denver, CO-based HealthOne. Several hospitals merged to compete with this entity. In 1996, almost 100 physicians formed Precedent Health Partners and established a new outpatient center in summer 1997.
