Fla. Judge puts brakes on CIGNA settlement in class action
Article Abstract:
U.S. District Judge Federico A. Moreno in the Southern District of Florida Miami Division, in a strongly worded injunction, mentioned that he was not pleased that CIGNA Corp. and two physicians who sued the company in state court in Illinois moved the suit to federal court in Illinois and then immediately filed a settlement there. While the CIGNA spokesperson Wendell Potter stated that company executives were still reviewing MorenoEs order, they refused to believe that the injunction would affect on the terms of settlement agreement.
