BICC Construction Cables launched a campaign in 1997 to raise awareness of the dangers of inadequate cables in emergency systems in the UK. The company continues to highlight this message in a video entitled 'Footprints of Fear.' BICC is concerned that the application of the existing British Standard as a test for fire alarm cable performance is inadequate, and that standards should change to reflect global developments on fire safety codes. These developments indicate the superiority of performance-based codes.
