Foreign-born Ohio transplant surgeon denied work visa
Article Abstract:
A licensed transplant surgeon originally from India, Dr. Tanmay Lal, is one of the foreign-born transplant surgeons in the United States who was denied work visa and was forced to suspend kidney transplants in July 2003. Dr. Lal hopes for a H-1B visa that would require him to work 32 hours a week in an underserved area for three years.
