Mistaken translations can cause trouble
Article Abstract:
Glenn Flores, MD and an associate professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee stated that translation errors have the potential for clinical consequences of an estimated 19 million US residents with limited command of the English language. He suggested that interpreters must undergo training that will include learning medical terms, confidentiality issues and principles of informed consent.
