Foxa2, a novel transcriptional regulator of insulin sensitivity
Article Abstract:
Studies are conducted to show the role of the fast-regulated transcription factor Foxa2 in the improvement of insulin resistance in peripheral tissues of people suffering from type 2 diabetes. The results show that Foxa2 improves by resistance by controlling the genes expressions involved in fatty acid oxidation, ketogenesis and glycolysis and by regulating the hepatic lipid metabolism during fasting.

Overcoming insulin resistance with CNTF
Article Abstract:
Ciliary neurotrophic factor (CNTF) is found to enhance fatty-acid oxidation in muscles and reduce insulin resistance in obese, diabetic mice. A study seeks to examine whether, as a result of skeletal muscle is the major site of insulin-mediated glucose uptake, this action of CNTF could benefit individuals with diabetes.

Local and systemic insulin resistance resulting from hepatic activation of 1KK-beta and NF-kappa B
Article Abstract:
The lipid accumulation in the liver leads to subacute hepatic 'inflammation' through NF-kappa B activation and downstream cytokine production. This causes insulin resistance both locally in liver and systematically.
