Vitamin C status and respiratory function
Article Abstract:
A cross sectional analysis shows a positive relationship between respiratory function and plasma vitamin C, in which the vitamin has a protective role in lung function. The observation is stronger in men than in women. The whole normal range of dietary intake and lung function play a mediatory role in the protective function of vitamin C. The relationship is significant in terms of forced expiratory volume and forced vital capacity. The association is relatively higher in male subjects than in females.

Vitamin C status and serum lipids
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to assess the cross sectional relationship between plasma vitamin C and serum lipids. The population-based study used a cross-sectional analysis design. The results indicate that plasma vitamin C may be a marker of other factors. The results also suggest that a high intake of vitamin C from food increases serum HDL cholesterol and lowers serum triglyceride.
