Functional analysis of naturally occurring mutations in the open reading frame of CCR5 in HIV-infected Chinese patients and healthy controls
Article Abstract:
Polymorphism of the HIV coreceptor CC chemokine receptor (CCR) 5 in 1099 Chinese adults residing in Hong Kong, including 785 HIV-negative healthy donors and 314 HIV-positive patients are studied. It is concluded that the CCR5 mutation in not uncommon in Chinese populations, although the frequency was low in cohort of HIV patients and healthy individuals.

Biochemical and HIV-1 coreceptor properties of K26R, a new CCR5 variant in China's Sichuan population
Article Abstract:
Five chemokine receptor (CCR5) coding region variants are identified in a Chinese population. A study of the K26R chemokine receptor activity and HIV coreceptor properties compared with wild type CCR5 and G106R is also presented.
