GAO finds evidence of quality problems at dialysis centers
Article Abstract:
Concerns are raised on the quality of care provided to USEs dialysis patients from the General Accounting Office (GAO) report that threat people with end-stage renal disease. The GAO found that in the year 2000, 512 US dialysis facilities provided inadequate dialysis facilities treatment for 20%or more of their patients, and nearly 1,700 centers provided inadequate anemia treatment for 20% or more of their patients.
