Soluble and insoluble dietary fiber provides health benefits such as lowering blood cholesterol, managing blood sugar, and keeping bowels regular. Beans are an excellent source of fiber, as well as of folic acid, protein, potassium and iron. Ideas for using beans and a recipe for black bean chili are included.
