The author comments on the announcement of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute to spend $20 million on the undergraduate teaching. The scientists interested and involved in the research have been invited to apply for institute's teaching post worth $1 million over 4 years to develop new ways of teaching undergraduates.

The trust has more than 12 billion pounds sterling in assets and supports 3,000 researchers in 30 countries.
