Scientists divided on relevance of race in medical research
Article Abstract:
BiDil, which treats heart failure, is the first drug marketed to a specific racial group as it is found to be ineffective in whites. Most scientists agree that the race or a sociodemographic group is an important surrogate for environmental, cultural and even genetic factors underlying disease predisposition and outcomes.

Variant Creutzfeldt- Jakob disease as considered as a 'mini-epidemic' that could be followed by many other large epidemics to come in future. The victims of these diseases are those who have eaten infected meat and have the shortest incubation times.
