ANNOTATION: "HIV SPECIAL" The interaction of the viruses at different levels in the cells is illustrated. The pathogenic infection about HIV is debated and stated that measures to eradicate it remains subtle. Viral pathogenecity is a result of direct effect of replication on infected cells and indirect effects on uninfected cells.

HIV nuclear import: what's the flap?
Article Abstract:
Research is presented on the 'DNA flap', which is a triple stranded HIV cDNA intermediate of reverse transcription, and may be a component of HIV nuclear import. Issues discussed include nuclear translocation of viral nucleic acids, the improvement of anti-retroviral drug design, and gene therapy.
