HIV transmission among male inmates in a state prison system-Georgia, 1992-2005
Article Abstract:
Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) and the Georgia Division of Public Health invited Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to assist with an epidemiologic investigation of HIV risk behaviors and transmission patterns among male inmates within GDC facilities and to make HIV prevention recommendations for the prison population. The results of that investigation, which identified the characteristics associated with HIV seroconversion in prison is presented.

End-of-life care for homeless patients: "She says she is there to help me in any situation"
Article Abstract:
Inpatient palliative care services should be developed at hospitals serving homeless people in order to improve their end-of-life care. A multidisciplinary team can help in addressing the requirements and improve the care of homeless patients and effective palliative care can be offered by forming trusting relationships between homeless patients and their clinicians.
