Hear my plea
Article Abstract:
Ear care has generally been given a low priority within health care services in the UK, even though communication is a vital element in improving health education. There is a clear need for better training for health professionals in order to assist them in avoiding many of the ear problems which arise from poor ear care. More emphasis should be placed on ensuring that health professionals working in the primary setting have the knowledge and skills with which to provide holistic care for any patient who is experiencing ear difficulties.

Can you hear yourself think?
Article Abstract:
Noise and a lack of space for social interaction are citied as two of the main reasons students find it difficult to study in residential halls at university. Social gatherings often have to take place in corridors which has an affect on students trying to study nearby. Up to 70% of nursing students questioned for research claimed noise was having a detrimental effect on their studies. The introduction of specific social areas within halls of residence would have a positive affect on the levels of studying carried out by students.
