Help for substance misusers
Article Abstract:
The Riverside Mental Health Trust in London operates a drop-in session for women with alcohol and drug problems. It is staffed by nurses, social workers, complementary therapy practitioners and an occupational therapist. The combination of formal and informal services on offer are thought to be the reason why the centre is popular. Most of the women prefer individual counselling, and abuse and depression are discussed, as these issues may have lead to the alcohol and drug problems.
