Hematopoietic stem cells get closer to the bone
Article Abstract:
Hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) are rare cells that persist throughout adult life in the bone marrow and their transplant has helped thousands of patients with hematologic malignances and other disorders. Inspite of impressive progress in the detection, purification and molecular characterization of HSCs, the number of HSCs is limited. Inactivation of an enzyme that impedes stem cell homing to the bone marrow may be a good and a simple alternative

Single hematopoietic stem cells generate skeletal muscle through myeloid intermediates
Article Abstract:
Transplantation of single CD45(super +1) hemapoietic stem cells (HSCs) is used to demonstrate that the entire circulating myogenic activity in bone marrow is derived from HSCs and their hematopoietic progeny. The findings indicate that circulating myeloid cells migrate to regenerating skeletal muscle and stochastically incorporate into mature myofibres.

Contribution of hematopoietic stem cells to skeletal muscle
Article Abstract:
The progeny of cells from adult bone marrow, which is experimentally depicted, contributes reconstitution of hematopoietic system and muscle regeneration. This reassert that classically defined single hematopoietic stem cells can give rise to both blood and muscle.
