Habib Baha, a physician who had left Afghanistan due to political problems, returned back to help the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) with reference to the countryEs health infrastructure. The report he submitted along with three Afghan-American physicians to the HHS suggested to pursue a project on health of women and children since the maternal mortality rate is one of the highest in Afghanistan.
