Can plans 'deselect' doctors? Calif. high court to address termination without cause
Article Abstract:
Physicians and managed care organizations are awaiting a decision by the California Supreme Court on whether plans have the right to remove doctors from their panels without explanation. Physicians argue that termination without cause gives managed care plans too much power over doctors, and can be used for retaliatory purposes. Plans use termination to adjust the size of their physician panels.
