How enrolled nurses feel about conversion
Article Abstract:
In the UK nursing profession, training for the status of enrolled nurse (ENs) was stopped in 1992 and nursing positions have been filled in many areas by health-care assistants with National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs). There are many courses available for ENs wishing to convert to the role of registered nurse. A survey of ENs who have taken part in a conversion course shows that they mostly undertake the course to further their careers, while many express concern about the value of their qualifications.

What do practice nurses do?
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the work load of practice nurses compared to that of General Practitioners (GPs) is presented. Findings include a big inter-practice variation in nursing hours and the type of work undertaken. The cost of nurse consultations and GP consultations are almost the same as GPs see more patients per hour than nurses.
