How old is too old to drive?
Article Abstract:
The number of older drivers in US roads is expected to increase beyond the year 2000. The Transportation Research Board estimates that one out of four drivers in the US and Western Europe will be over 65 years old by the year 2020. Graduated licensing is considered a feasible solution to the safety problems imposed by older drivers. Under such a system, authorities will be granting licenses with conditions that fit a person's ability, such as day driving only, use of special equipment or requiring a companion in the car.
