How the Burford reflective model boosts care standards
Article Abstract:
The Burford Nursing Development Unit's reflective model can be very useful to nurses seeking to take an approach based on reflective practice. It contains reflective cue questions which allow nurses to find out about a patient's background and to consider the best forms of treatment. Within this approach, nurses can appreciate that each clinical response to a patient's difficulties involves a process of assessing what has already happened and planning for possible future developments.

Article Abstract:
All professionals involved in work with older people require training on how to spot signs of abuse. They must be aware that abuse can be emotional or financial, as well as merely physical, and must be able to understand why abuse takes place. All nurses play a vital role in identifying abuse, and may in certain circumstances have to report a colleague who is guilty of perpetrating abuse.
