How to combat workplace stress

A substantial number of US workers contemplate leaving their jobs because of work stress. Job stress is also a serious problem for employers as it often leads to absenteeism, lower productivity and medical care costs. It is important for employers to know about the different causes of job stress and to recognize its symptoms in employees. Several tips on how employers can help alleviate job stress in their employees are presented.

Companies network to cut crash costs

The activities of the Washington, DC-based Network of Employers for Traffic Safety (NETS), a traffic safety program fundedby the government, corporate and community sectors, are described. NETS is aimed at reducing motor vehicle-related deaths and injuries among employees. Itfocuses on two areas of intervention that significantly affect highway safety, prevention of drunk or impaired driving and safety-belt promotion.

New laws force drunks off the road
Article Abstract:
Administrative-license revocation laws adopted by several states in the US are effectively keeping drivers off the road. Under these laws, police and state licensing officials can revoke or suspend the license of drivers who fail or refuse a chemical test for alcohol. The police can take a driver's license on the spot while the licensing authority has the power to speed up the suspension/revocation process.
