How to use child-safety seats properly

Adults should ensure that children are properly secured in child-safety seats in the car to protect them from severe injuries in motor vehicle crashes. Motorists can follow the guidelines provided in their vehicle's owners's manuals for directions on how to use safety seats. Information can also be obtained from the police, fire department, hospitals and safety agencies such as the National Security Council. General guidelines that adults should follow when using a child-safety seat are discussed.

The do's and don'ts of kids and air bags
Article Abstract:
Studies have shown that inflating air bags cause many infant automobile deaths. Moreover, the studies indicate that child safety seats are not enough to protect children from automobile-related injuries. Consequently, parents should carefully understand the proper use of safety seats before using them. Several tips on how to properly use safety seats in air bag-equipped vehicles are presented.

The National Safety Council warns the parents of the need for booster seats as nearly 17 million children are at risk of accidents. Safety expert agree that proper use of booster seat for kids between 4 to 8 years is the utmost priority for child passenger safety.
