Hsp 70 promotes antigen-presenting cell function and converts T-cell tolerance to autoimmunity in vivo
Article Abstract:
Influence of mammalian heat-shock proteins (HSPs) on the immune response to antigens is determined in vivo. The effects of Hsp70 on induction of autoimmunity using the lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus glycoprotein (LCMV-GP) model of autoimmune diabetes are examined.

Human lupus T cells resist inactivation and escape death by upregulating COX-2
Article Abstract:
Studies with COX-2 inhibitors and COX-2-deficient mice confirmed that COX-2/FLIP (FLICE inhibitory protein) antiapoptosis program is used by Human lupus T cells. Mechanisms of COX-2 inhibitor induced apoptosis are presented.

Positive selection for autoimmunity
Article Abstract:
The most well-known mechanism for tolerating self antigens is negative selection of T cells in the thymus. However, a new model of autoimmune disease suggests procainamide catalysis offers other possibilities.
