Implementing a nurse-led fracture intervention service
Article Abstract:
A study evaluates a pro-active, nurse-led fracture intervention service that aims to selectively case-find those at highest risk of osteoporosis and promote early intervention to reduce patients' fracture risk. About 41% of those diagnosed with osteoporosis are assessed as being severely affected and are referred to a specialist osteoporosis clinic within secondary care.
