Improving practice in wound care for patients with dementia
Article Abstract:
The condition of dementia presents particular problems for wound care, especially if the wounds that require dressing can be reached by patients, which can mean that they are often unaware that drips and dressings must remain in situ. All patients must not only be assessed for their wounds, but also for their particular behavioral patterns or willingness to comply with treatment.
