The way to take charge
Article Abstract:
Nursing specialists in the US have been given the opportunity to become partners in a practice or work independently through a law enabling them to invoice Medicare directly. Medicare insures healthcare for 38 million Americans who are disabled or aged 65 and over. Nurses see the new law as an aid to increasing their influence over health policy. The change in healthcare from a caring profession to a profit generating business will see nurses utilising their skills in leadership as well as their business acumen.
