The Mediterranean diet and mortality -- olive oil and beyond
Article Abstract:
A traditional Mediterranean diet may lower overall mortality rates as well as mortality rates from coronary heart disease and cancer, according to a study published in 2003. The Mediterranean diet focuses on large amounts of unprocessed grains, fruits, vegetables, beans, legumes, nuts, and olive oil. Red meat is seldom eaten and even fish and poultry are eaten in moderation.

An intervention involving traditional birth attendants and perinatal and maternal mortality in Pakistan
Article Abstract:
The traditional birth attendants were trained and were issued disposal delivery kits with teams provided to outreach clinics for antenatal care. Therefore, the intervention involving the training traditional birth attendants and integrating them into an improved health care system was achievable and effective in reducing perinatal mortality in rural Pakistan.
