Inhibin, follicle-stimulating hormone, and age as predictors of ovarian response in in vitro fertilization cycles stimulated with gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist-gonadotropin treatment
Article Abstract:
The success of in vitro fertilization (IVF) using gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist-gonadotropin treatment may be predicted by basal levels of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and inhibin. Researchers evaluated the effectiveness of GnRH agonists in the first cycle of IVF and compared levels of FSH and inhibin and women's ages in cancelled and completed IVF cycles. The use of GnRH agonists decreased the rate of cancelled cycles to less than 20%. Levels of FSH and inhibin on cycle days two or three predicted cancelled cycles better than age.

Homocysteine and antiphospholipid antibodies in a woman undergoing ovarian follicular stimulation: prospective clinical and laboratory evaluation
Article Abstract:
The diagnosis of homocysteine and antiphospholipid antibodies in a woman undergoing ovarian follicular stimulation is discussed. She was evaluated for inherited and acquired thrombophilia and tested positive for high titer of antiphospholipid antibodies and mild hyperhomocysteinemia.
