Mental Health Bill makes uncomfortable progress
Article Abstract:
The Mental Health Bill provides nurses, psychologists and occupational therapists to train as responsible clinicians, allowing them to discharge patients and renewing detention orders. The House of Lords passed an Amendment to the bill forcing non-medical clinicians to consult a psychiatrist before undertaking such tasks.
